Sarajevo to the Serbian border

We made it out of Sarajevo in a rainstorm and then did some tough climbs before camping overnight next to a stream and near the snow line. The next morning after a very cold night we woke up to everything covered in a frost. By the afternoon we had ridden down a long downhill and had to strip down to shorts and short sleeve shirts. The heat would be with us for the next week or so.

A mid-climb lunch break. Just before a car pulled up and started unloading a bunch of flowers. One of the women was saying something to us, our understanding of Serbian is beyond rough,  and was very obviously crying. We saw many shrines along the road for people who had died in car crashes and it's likely she was visiting one nearby.

Hello cow.

There is no doubt Mel is quite happy we are about to do a long downhill after  a day and a half of tough climbs.

For about $2 you can get yourself a double big-gulp of beer.

This is far less money than it appears to be. Welcome to Serbia where you divide by 88 to figure out what you are spending. Thus 1000 dinar equals up $11. I will say the money is a lot prettier than US money and it feels a lot cleaner.
