Nancy to Paris

We spent 3 days in Nancy and we opted to take the train to get to Paris to cut down on our cycling time to Amsterdam. At this point it we planned 5 days in Paris and were facing a 5-6 day ride to Amsterdam, only allowing us a few days there before our Visa's ran out. We did contemplate the idea of saying "fuck it. What could the EU do to us if we were still here after our Visa's expired?". Well one thing, they could ban us from the EU for being a 'persona non grata', and make it damn near impossible to visit again. So knowing that we were getting down to the wire on our EU stay with our July 23rd deadline fast approaching, we hopped on a train. One stunning 5 hour train ride through the country. No complaints.

Since we pretty much had a half free day in Nancy before our departure, we took in the historic Nouveau homes. I would gladly take any of them.

We also relaxed and read in the park. We lucked out for a non rain, beautiful sunny day. We so much of the day going to either exploring the city or riding to your next destination, a moment in the sun with a book is a rare treat.

I suggest enlarging this picture and looking at the creepy towards the end of the green fence
why must I be subjected to such hideousness?!
And then we were on a train traveling through rolling green hills and into Paris. Riding around at night in a busy unknown city was a trip. We got lost in the giant Bois de Boulonge Park trying to find our campground. But hey, we saw lots of busy prostitues.
